Urge Congress to Restore Programs and Incentives to Save Bald Eagles, Butterflies, and Polar Bears

Congress passed the budget reconciliation bill that contains sweeping provisions that will harm our wildlife, communities, and the natural world—and it has been signed into law. However, thanks to advocacy from people like you, provisions were removed from this bill that would have placed millions of acres of our treasured public lands up for sale. As a Federation, our voices helped to soften the blow to clean energy incentives, which could have been far worse. And the support from wildlife advocates helped ensure that significant conservation investments to help wildlife thrive on private lands weren’t eliminated.

Wildlife need your voice. As Congress considers funding legislation for Fiscal Year 2026, urge your representative in Congress to work to reject further cuts to critical programs that safeguard wildlife and people.

I am grateful for your stance and encourage you to keep up the fight for programs and incentives to safeguard people and wildlife as Congress considers additional funding legislation.

I stand with you in opposition to the sweeping provisions in the reconciliation bill that cut back, diminish—or in some cases, fully eliminate—federal laws and programs that prevent harmful projects and development from destroying or polluting habitats. I also strongly oppose having hundreds of thousands of acres of our public lands devastated by oil, gas, and mining operations. And I do not want limits lifted on the release of toxic, climate-harming gases and chemicals into our air, lands, and waters.

I am counting on you to oppose further funding cuts and rollbacks that will accelerate climate impacts on people and wildlife while driving up energy costs and taxes for people like me, allow harmful industrial projects to circumvent environmental reviews, and sacrifice our public lands for misguided, short-term gains.
