Many oil and gas leases threaten some of America’s most iconic landscapes, wildlife, and outdoor recreation.
Leases have been offered in areas once unthinkable for development: near Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah, Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico, and in wildlife habitat areas throughout the western United States. Further, it doesn’t make sense to lease for new oil wells when oil prices have plummeted and companies are shuttering existing wells.
Please tell leaders at the Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management to stop rampant oil and gas leasing while the nation is in the midst of an economic and health crisis.
