Deer, pronghorn, and elk need your help. The need for the ability of wildlife to move may be greater than ever: An expanding network of roads and development fragment habitat and lead to a higher number of animal-vehicle collisions.
Across the country, habitat fragmentation is limiting the ability of migratory species like deer, pronghorn, and elk to move from one area to another, imperiling populations as their genetic diversity dwindles. These species need a strong investment in wildlife crossings, such as overpasses and underpasses across highways.
Call on your senators today: urge support for wildlife crossing provisions in the Surface Transportation Bill to protect wildlife and motorists.
